iPhone App Finds Hhidden Discount On iPhone Insurance

iPhone Apps No Comments »

The ever increasing popularity is a phenomenon all in Apple iPhones own league. An insanely good job has been done by Apple by marketing their technological wizardry that is the iPhone.

Despite having only a 2% market share by sales volume, they have a 30% market share of profitwithin the phone handset market. It is so because the iPhone is perceived as incredibly valuable.

And there is no arguing against it - it is a very easy to use advanced piece of communications technology that just does what you want it to do - whether that is talk on the phone, browse the internet while on the go or use it as a mobile computer, with any of a range of software applications running on it.

Incase you need to replace it, the only trouble is, along with the high-demand, feature-rich mobile phones comes a very high price tag. Sure, many people get it at a reduced cost or maybe even for free with a new contract agreement with their phone network carrier. While in the USA the iPhone 3G-S is $600 and the iPhone 3G is $450 to $500, the replacement cost in the UK is £550 for the iPhone 3G-S and £350 for the iPhone 3G,.

The high rate of iPhone theft and the potential to damage your iPhone accidentally has now been given to you so that is not a cost you want to have to expose yourself to. Data of Continental Research shows, 1.3 MILLION phones every year are stolen - and damaged every year are over 2 MILLION phones.

The fact that the demand for iPhone insurance is high is because of this. Available were very limited options in the USA until very recently. The widely held belief is that there isno iPhone insurance in USA (although there is). In the UK there are a few specialist iPhone Insurance providers such as iPhone Insurance Cover

Now in a great example of using the technology itself, an iPhone apphas been created to allow users to find otherwise hidden discount vouchers and codes to get a money-off discount when they order their iPhone insurance.

This iPhone Insurance Appis a remarkably simple tool - you just put in your name, country and email address (they send you the direct link to the discount web-page later) - and then you get instant access to the discounted iPhone insurance page.

“Insure Me” is the app in the Apple App Store, that is proving very popular. If you want to download and install on your iPhone it is free, and takes about 3 minutes to set up and use. You can learn more about it at www.iPhoneInsuranceApp.comor open the App Store on your iPhone and search for “Insure Me”.

Surely after months of iPhone owners searching, this simple iPhone App is proving very popular in helping bring down the cost of their iPhone insurance.

The Wide World of iPhone Games

iPhone Apps No Comments »

Computer games are often wild affairs, with players competing heavily, blowing things up, trying to undercut or outdo each other, and so on. And the world of iPhone games might be viewed as a mirror of what goes on inside computer games themselves. The competition to create and promote the games is fierce, and isn’t always fair. With the device’s ability to download separate iPhone applications, game creators saw a chance to make it big with game applications that could be played on the phone’s new and wide touch-controlled screen.

There are about forty million iPhone users, and chances are that there are just as many interested in games, as there are gamers using other technologies. So a certain percentage of iPhone users are satisfied with just a few basic games, as they are for their home computers. On the other hand, the primary iPhone downloads of other users are games created specifically for this device. Game applications have proliferated wildly, even for the earliest version of the iPhone which had to be hacked for any non-original programs to be downloaded. The iPhone 3G and 3GS versions that now allow downloads can accommodate Apple-approved games placed in their online store, and many others downloaded by those who’ve hacked their iPhones.

And because gaming is such a huge, profitable industry, iPhone games have been subjected to another sort of “wild west” tactic, much the same as other products have been in this consumerist society. Apple’s store and tech blog sites allow people to write iPhone app reviews and rate the applications. But many companies promoting games have actually written to reviewers, offering to pay for favorable reviews, in the hope of increasing sales. This leads to doubts, both about the reliability of any reviews at all, or how good the games actually are.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has taken note of these and other problems surrounding this iPhone software and, for that matter, any other sort of product that gets evaluated and reviewed in a public way. Late in 2009, the FTC instituted regulations requiring anyone who receives payments or free products in return for reviews to disclose this fact. Those writing reviews of iPhone games will have to do the same, or face very stiff fines. But it means that some of the wild atmosphere surrounding the games will calm down, and perhaps users will be able to trust reviews of these games a little bit more than before.

Google Nexus Reduces ETF

iPhone Apps No Comments »

Google Nexus since its day of launch has been in some or other news- well, here it refers to negative news. One such instance is the Nexus One name case which was filed against Google. The name of the Google phone, Nexus One, has been taken from a novel. The daughter of the novelist wnet out to the press saying that Google used the name without their family’s consent.  If or not the issue has been settled, is yet not confirmed.

Also, on the very day of the launch, nexus One had to face people’s crashing hopes. People expected way too mcuh from Google, and the phone didn’t go beyond their expectations. Although people fidn nothing wrong about Google phone, they think something is missing. Just because the makers are Google!(read here- Nexus One We Are Underwhlemed)

There was also some 3G issue with Nexus, which later got solved by Google. However, limited 3g solution was provided.

And for now there is another news on Google; this time a good one. The Early Termination Fee (ETF) on Nexus has been brought down by Google.

Initially it was $ 350 which was a huge amount. And this was in many ways affecting the popularity of the product among its users. So to set things right, Google brought down the ETF to $ 150 from 350.

$ 150 is again a big money, but at least better than $ 350.

Along with this Google has also started a 24 hrs. helpline service to help solve customer’s problems and keep them happy. Hopefully after so many amendments Google manages to keep all the Nexus buyers and happy and get many more customers. Let’s see how things work- it has not really been going very good for Google phone though (Buzz added to it. It added more troubles for Google. Got it sued for envading people’s privacy rules)

Fring Releases Skype App For iPhones. VOIP Over 3G Added

iPhone Apps No Comments »

All iPhone users who use Skype to communicate cheer up. Here is some great news for you guys. Now you can call, chat, video call and do lots more with a new Skype application brought out by Fring.

Those who are finding this gibberish, iPhone has a Skype app which functions like the regular; well, not so normal; Skype for distant communication. The Skype app was introduced sometime in April 2009. iPhone users were happy to at last have Skype on their iPhones, but the Skype app on iPhone  didn’t have VOIP over 3G and asked for WiFi. But now, thanks to Fring, Skype will be of much more use for iPhone users.  But unfortunately, like everything, Fring’s Skype app also has limitations. So let’s take a quick look at the the Fring Skype application does and what it does not.

Why the App is good?

In a nutshell, video calling, chatting and all such main things which one uses Skype for becomes convenient and the plus point is one doesn’t have to spend a cent for that. The app is completely free of charges. You can download the Skype app from the big Apple App store.

What the Fring Skype App doesn’t have?

Though the application simplifies a lot of elements, it has to compromise on a few things. There is no iPhone to iPhone VOIP cal feature. You only have PC to iPhone communication. And also, there is no two-way video chat.

So those were a few good points that the Fring Skype app brought and few things that it still needs to be added. But guys at iphonehelp thinks that after this add from Fring, Skype will probably have to get down to bringing out its own app with all the regular features, which are there for PC users, for the iPhone users.

Hopefully that happens and all iPhone users have better Skype calling facility.

Wireless Broadband for Web Surfing Anywhere

iPhone Apps No Comments »

Wireless broadband internet is also called mobile broadband and is usable in environments without the use of wires via a portable USB modem and mobile cards. The popularity of mobile broadband is growing quickly in Australia and the providers in the telecommunication industries that offer these mobile broadband plans. It’s generally projected that Mobile Broadband will compete against the likes of Fixed Line Broadband and evolve to the point where it will directly compete against the forthcoming 100 Mbps broadband speeds found in the Fibre-to-the-Premises National Broadband Network.

When shopping for mobile broadband service you need to make sure that the service providers has 3G coverage networks for the area you will be using it in. The one you choose should be one who offers 3G coverage, and this should be the foremost points to consider. Whilst mobile broadband brings numerous benefits associated with having internet access on the move you might be let down if you don’t check that you can get good 3G coverage in your area.

The 3G coverage you get largely depends on:

1.    If the provider you’re with offers coverage in the area where you reside. Many consumers falsely believe that obtaining the last modem and living in a location that is considred “net savvy” means that they too can get coverage, however if the area is no in a covergage area they will not access the high speeds that are advertised.

2.    The distance from your nearest mobile pole, trees and other buildings between you and the pole, as well as the number of users on the network have an effect on the speed you get.

The fastest mobile broadband speed available in the UK in theory is the Vodafone with 14.4Mb in big cities such as, Birmingham, London and Liverpool. But, consumers can usually expect to see speeds that ate between 1 and 4 Mb. The maximum speeds advertised by mobile broadband companies are 3.6Mb or 4.5Mb.

If you remain unsure that you will be able to get good 3G coverage from the mobile broadband provider you can choose a pay-as-you-go plan in order to test the service out and not be locked into a contract . Basically all of the big mobile broadband providers are offering pay-as-you go services and is quickly becoming a popular choice.

Mobile broadband coverage and speed will be judged by the strength of the signal you receive from your provider, which in turn is determined by the distance you are form your providers nearest mobile pole. Urban areas are also more likely to receive 3G or HSDPA mobile broadband coverage, which offers faster speeds. In areas where this is not accessible, the standard speeds can also be affected by other factors such as weather conditions, the type of building you are living in and the number of users on the network.

The coverage area for 3G coverage will differ from one broadband service provider to another. Speeds will differ too and it is unlikely that you will get the maximum speed advertised by the provider. Typically you will only get a fraction of the speeds ISPs advertise. Mobile broadband providers offer a complete listing of what their packages include what areas they cover by going to their website.

The Free Sim Market Explained

iPhone Apps No Comments »

Free sim cards are incredibly popular amongst mobile phone users. One of the main advantages is that they provide a fast and simple route from contracts that cost the customer on a monthly basis. Pay as you go sim cards are the least restrictive option for users in payment terms, as there is no requirement at all to pay out every 30 days. Lets look at the packages available:

Orange Free Sims

Orange offer four diverse variations to their pay as you go offering - Dolphin, Canary, Racoon and Camel.

Dolphin is aimed at text users - with extra texts available.

Canary is ideal for off peak phone calls (evenings and weekends).

Racoon is the option for off and on peak (all day) calls.

Camel provides cheaper overseas call and text pricing.

o2 Free Sim Cards

o2, like Orange, offer multiple choices depending on your call and text patterns:

Favourite Place gives extra call time from a specific place, for example where you live.

Talkalotmore is designed for off peak callers.

Text Anytime as the name suggests is great for sending sms messages.

o2 Unlimited at the time of writing is the flagship option, with unlimited calls and texts to other o2 customers.

Your Country is the last package, perfect for phoning abroad.

It’s also worth considering sim only contracts if you are a regular mobile user. Whilst it does still technically mean signing up for a contract, they can typically be cancelled after a month, and a month can cost as little as ten pounds. In other words, if you top up by ten pounds or more a month this is probably the right option for your needs. All the big networks now offer something of this nature, and there’s plenty of information available on the internet - a great comparision table is displayed here.

iPhone Insurance: Keep it Sexy

iPhone Apps No Comments »

Definitely your iPhone is one sexy piece of kit. As it is smooth, feels great, looks good, it makes you feel good. keeping it that way is absolutely necessary.

It is not cheap and you are most probably aware of it. Infact you signed a contract with it so you got it at a great price or even free. If you have your iPhone as a Pay As You Go then you are more aware of the real price of the Apple iPhone.

Around £350 and £550 is what iPhone 3G and 3GS is priced at. The realistic price would be this that you would have to pay if you had to replace your iPhone. Assuming you do not have iPhone insurance.

Stress about your iPhone being stolen or damaged will be overcome by iPhone insurance. Because your iPhone is covered by the insurance it massively lowers the cost overall of keeping your iPhone sexy - and with you!

iPhone theft is massively increasing. Out of all the street crimes in UK 28% of it involves a mobile phone and an increasing proportion of that involves iPhones.

Your sexy smooth iPhone is also very easy to damage. If you accidentally drop it badly it can be beyond usable and you will have to pay to repair or - or replace it despite the fact that it has the teflon-like anti-scratch screen. It will not be covered by the manufacturers Warranty.

As iPhone users use it in their hands looking down at it while they walk down the street it becomes one of the reason for the iPhone to be more prone to theft and damage. It makes it more prone to be dropped as you are paying less attention to where you are walking and also makes it more likely to be stolen in a quick grab-and-run scenario.

Again this is why iPhone insuranceis proving so popular. This is just one of those necessary accessories you need to have with your iPhone. You need to make sure you insure and cover your iPhone with iPhone insurance

Latest Generation of Mini Mobiles

iPhone Apps No Comments »

The appearance of mobile (cell) phones have evolved almost beyond recognition over the years. They once resembled hard-back books, and now you can find phones smaller than a pack of chewing gum. That said, there was a marked reversal in this shrinking progress as phones took on more and more functions and applications, such as being used as video cameras and personal organisers. These smart phones such as the iphone and the latest generation of Nokias are certainly a lot sleeker than phones of old, but they represent a step backwards in terms of phone size and portability. However, this is soon set to change.

As internet and 3G connectivity gets quicker all the time, it is becoming less important to actually store all phone programs and files actually on the handset. You can instead stream whatever information, games and functions you need from else ware, only when you need it. Phones don’t have to be multi functional devices all the time then, they just have to show whichever information and do whichever job is being requested of them at any one time.

How this will work is that you will have a central hub, either at home or hosted with an external company. Your handset will be able to ‘login’ easily to this hub, regardless of where you are in the world, and access all the files and programs that are stored on it. You will still need a certain amount of hardware in the phone, such as a camera and other electrical components, but you will be able to save huge amounts of space where memory, processors and mini fan accessories would normally be found.  This means then that phones could be not much bigger than cable ties and you could even wear them as accessories such on a necklace or as a wrist-band. Breaking free of the weight and size that phones have had to comply with in years gone by could spawn a whole new era for them.

During the recent years Sony Ericsson has been releasing some really good phones under the Walkman range but they have not successfully broken through in the market. However things have changed for the better during recent times with some really interesting cellphones from Sony Ericsson. The following article contains a brief review of 3 Sony Ericsson that is worth considering.

First of all we have the W995 that have been released in May 2009. This phone offers a 2.6 inch color display which is indeed one of its negative points when compared to today’s phone offering. However the phone makes up for its weakness in other areas. Indeed the W995 comes with the latest Walkman 4.0 player complete with all its features such as such as Shake control and SensMe. This place the phone as top of the range in the entertainment category. Additionally the phone comes with a 8 MP camera providing users with some really good picture quality. A must for those desperate for an entertainment phone.

The Satio is another great phone from Sony Ericsson. Fitted with a 3.5 inch touchscreen display the phone provides a rather intuitive control. The main strength of the phone lies in its 12 MP camera which makes it a real challenger to the other phones and even cameras in the market. The camera feature comes complete with LED and xenon flash to guarantee you some really good pictures. The Satio comes with both a 3G and Wi-FI connection that will make connecting to the internet a breeze. The downside however is the lack of power from the flash which really undermines the phone positioning in the top-of-the-range camera segment.

The XPERIA X10 is a really interesting phone from Sony Ericsson that is expected to launch in early 2010. It will be based on the Android operating system and expect to build on the success of its predecessors. In terms of features you will have a 8 MP camera and a 4 inch touchscreen display. When it comes to connectivity the phone boast a Wi-Fi connection and 3G to make sure you stay connected wherever you are. You will also have access to a built-in GPS receiver to guide you during your outings. You will surely not regret waiting for this phone.
