It would certainly seem that there are a lot of people sitting at home chatting online to their friends at the moment using services like Facebook and Twitter. Are services such as this actually replacing phone talk or not?
Mobile Embracing Facebook
It can already be seen that mobile phone companies are really trying to bring in some of the 200 million Facebook users. Mobile phone advertisements are actually always banging on about how they have the service on their phone which means it is the must have phone for you to have.
Is this a sign that mobile companies know that Facebook and Twitter are a danger to them? It has to be really, these companies must realise how important Facebook and Twitter is becoming to the people with no lives at all. Although this is often not the case as a lot of people are seeing the true rubbish that is churning out from some of these sites.
Has anyone seen the stupid Farmville and Mafia Wars? They are shocking games that are attracting a hell of a lot of users to the service and do nothing but waste peoples time and take of some serious hours that they could be spent actually using a phone or meeting someone in person.
I think it is more to do with mobile companies wanting to offer their customers something they are going to use and it would seem that they cannot argue with 200 million people. With Twitter very slowly crawling its way up it has to be said phones are likely to carry on with this.
So throw away those fax to email systems and those 0800 numbers and premium rate phone numbers and get Facebook. Not really, these other services are much better.
So There you have it
