When you have selected a mobile network provider it can be difficult choosing from all the handsets on offer. Everywhere you look there is media telling you which phone to choose. Television, magazines, billboards, radio. And of course your friends are always there with the reasons why THEIR mobile phone is the best there is because it has the latest cool ring tone on it.
The important decision is what is the most important activity for your contract phones. This means (and this is very important) what you want your mobile phone for the most. Secondary is what you would LIKE it to do for you.
Here is my priority list of expectations from my mobile phone handset/contract:
1. Receive and make calls
2. Receive and send text messages
3. Access the WWW…ok I’ll settle for MySpace
4. Take some stunning photos (on drunken nights out which can be posted to facebook with the main purpose of embarrasing your mates)
5. Not find extra charges on my bill for doing all the above
6. Not call people by accident when I’m sat watching football (swearing and singing football songs) with my mates
7. Not look like a brick
8. Not resemble a credit card
9. Not need to be re-charged after a 30 minute facebook browsing session
What I desire from my mobile phone is to watch YouTube videos. But that said I wouldn’t sacrifice my essentials to be able to do those and wouldn’t pay the earth for them either. I do use a PC at home and I doubt my mates at the pub would appreciate me sitting in the corner watching catch up TV on my mobile phone.
There are several good mobile phone handsets looking around and to be honest it is the leading providers that I prefer to use if only for their wide range of handsets. But they also provide the best service when it comes down to it and they do have the best and most efficient customer care (although some people’s experiences may beg to differ!). My top preferred phone network and handset suppliers are:
3 mobile – Get the latest 3G mobiles, the best in mobile services and content like mobile internet, music downloads and mobile TV, and connect to the Internet with Mobile broadband.
Nokia – Wide range of mobile phone devices and contract deals and of course the full range of Nokia phones the second they come onto the market.
